Fabrizio Laudati, a seasoned restaurateur, has brought his Italian style from San Francisco to Marin County and to its residents along with executive chef Stefano Guasco. Laudati owned several Italian restaurants in San Francisco, including Bella Trattoria, Baldoria and Panta Rei. Together with Guasco, they have created a simple, authentic Italian menu with a modern twist from the Lazio region of central Italy — pastas, osso buco, lamb, chicken, pork and steaks. They will also offer thin crust pizzas. Prices range from $8-$12 for appetizers, $16-$20 for pastas, and $22- $28 for main dish specialties. The extensive selection of wines comes from California and Italy, ranging from $27 to $500.
Laudati had not planned on making a move to Marin, but when he passed by the space on Magnolia Avenue, he was sold. "It was a love at first sight for me, just like it was when my daughter Gia was born. I wanted this restaurant to be named after her, my little beautiful princess. I also absolutely loved the patio and can't wait to utilize it. It gives this place the feeling of Florence or Rome where you can sit outside. Very cozy and yet romantic,” he says.
